Variation Across an Area Help
This report allows comparisons to be made between Areas within an Area Type for a set of core indicators within a Topic. The report produces tabular output and a thematic map for each indicator within the Topic.
First of all, you will select the primary Area Type and then the Specific Area within it, for which you wish to view the map. An example could be to choose an Area Type of 'Local Authority' and then within that an Area to be reported on of 'Fife'.
You then choose a secondary Area Type (e.g. Intermediate Geography in which case all Intermediate Geographies will be selected within Fife), which will be a lower level within the first choice by which the report will display the statistics. No matter which Area Type is chosen, all of the lower level Areas contained within it will appear on the report. The report will include indicators for all secondary areas within the primary area.
The next step is to choose the particular Topic. The list of Topics displayed will only contain those for which there are indicators available for the chosen Area Type.
